Dr. Chantal Léger, MD, FRCPC

Profile Information

Dr. Léger received her medical degree in 1996, trained in internal medicine during 1996-1999, and completed her hematology fellowship in 2001 at the University of Ottawa. She achieved her hematology subspecialty certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2001, and furthered her training as a Leukemia/Bone Marrow Transplantation Fellow at UBC in 2002-2003. She became a staff hematologist at St. Paul’s Hospital in September 2003.

Dr. Léger gives lectures pertaining to inpatient and outpatient hematology to UBC medical students, residents and nursing staff. She currently holds the position of Clinical Assistant Professor at UBC.

Dr. Léger’s research interests are in malignant hematology mainly acute leukemia in the older adult, myelodysplasia, multiple myeloma and HIV-related hematology/lymphoma. Dr. Léger partakes in chemotherapy and antibiotics hospital committees.

Keeping ahead of COVID-19
